-Kuriyama Mirai, we will provide for your necessities. You have no reason to fear. Please report to Nase Izumi at your earliest convenience.-
Mirai peruses the shelves of the refrigerators in an all night convenience store. She would rather think of what to buy with what's left of her pocket money and not what to make of the series of texts she's received in the last few hours.
She has a supply of croissants and latkes from Autor, but it's only a matter of time before she tires of them. Probably. She hasn't had a chance to get tired of them, so she's not sure if she actually will. But at this point, she's been at the store long enough that not buying something would be rude. She finally spends a portion of her cash on a small soda, food for her T-Minus.
Mirai steps out into the frozen February night, suitcase rolling behind her and soda in hand. She meanders towards the train station, tucking the soda away and pulling out her phone to check the hour. Has she really been out all night? Dawn will be coming soon and bringing the first train of the day with it.
-What will you do with me?- Mirai finally texts back.
The air stills, silent against her. The street light above her flickers. Her breath makes the most movement, puffing like little clouds around her.
And then:
-We want to offer you a job.-
